Bibliometric Analysis of Global Research on Ecological Networks in Nature Conservation from 1990 to 2020

As a nature-based solution to land-use sustainability, ecological networks (ENs) have received substantial attention from researchers, planners, and decision-makers worldwide. To portray the global research on ENs in nature conservation during period of 1990–2020, 1371 papers 53 subject categories were reviewed with bibliometric methods CiteSpace. The results showed successive growth publications at an annually averaged rate 18.9% past three decades. Co-citation analysis indicated that most popular topic was connectivity, which studies concentrated quantifying identifying priority areas, integrating planning. A recent hotspot is study landscape fragmentation effects natural habitats or biodiversity under changes urbanized areas. Multidisciplinary approaches been increasingly used tackle more complex interplays among economic, social, ecological, cultural factors, aim alleviating service losses attributed human activities. Spatiotemporal dynamics participatory design different scales become emerging trend. In order address increasing pressures connectivity brought about by land use climate change, it suggested develop evaluation management resilience ENs.
